  • The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Parks & Recreation Department operates 22 parks in the county's west park district, where Chapel Cove is located. Twelve additional parks are in the nearby south district of the county.
  • Seven Nature Preserves provide a variety of facilities and programs for both youth and adults. The closest nature preserve to Chapel Cove, McDowell Nature Center and Preserve, is less than 5 miles away and has a full complement of environmental education and outdoor adventure programs, as well as lake access, trails, and camping.
