Residents of this beautiful community on the Mecklenburg shores
of Lake Wylie enjoy close proximity to everything from grand luxuries
to small conveniences. Two of the nation’s largest banks, Bank
of America and Wachovia, call Charlotte “home,” which
makes Charlotte the second largest banking center in the United States,
behind New York. And, uptown Charlotte – which offers more
than 100 of the city's best eateries and a diverse blend of entertainment
venues and cultural attractions – is less than 20 minutes from
Chapel Cove.
Easy access to Uptown and other areas of Charlotte is nearby; the
community is about three miles from I-485, six miles from I-77 and
nine miles from I-85. Charlotte-Douglas International Airport is
11 miles north of Chapel Cove.

School-aged children living at Chapel Cove may attend classes at
Charlotte-Mecklenburg public schools or
a wide selection of excellent private schools.
Shopping and Convenience
Less than 10 minutes from Chapel Cove
- RiverGate, a 600,000-square-foot shopping center, is about four
miles from Chapel Cove. Tenants include SuperTarget, Home Depot,
Best Buy, Marshalls, PetSmart, among other stores, eateries and
services.
- A multitude of grocery stores, drug stores, dry cleaners, banks,
video stores and a wealth of restaurants are nearby, including
Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods, Wal-Mart Supercenter, Blockbuster Video,
Starbucks Coffee and more.
About 15-20 minutes from Chapel Cove
- The nearby Ballantyne area offers shopping, dining and recreational
venues. The artsy Ballantyne Village Theatre, Table Restaurant & Bar,
Salara Dessert Lounge & Bistro and Modern Salon & Spa highlight
Ballantyne Village. A host of medical offices, Carmen! Carmen!
Salon and an array of casual restaurants populate Ballantyne Commons.
Alcoves home furnishings and accessories, Chico’s, DeWoolfson
Down, Voci Spa and Regal 22 Cinemas are available at StoneCrest
at Piper Glen. Restaurants include Firebirds Rocky Mountain Grill,
Cantina 1511 and Miró Spanish Cuisine.
- SouthPark is one of North Carolina's largest malls, offering
several department stores, including Nordstrom’s, Neiman
Marcus and Belk, as well as kate spade, Tiffany’s, Burberry,
Pottery Barn, COACH, Sur la Table and many more. Crate & Barrel
opened its first Charlotte store in front of the mall. Nearby Phillips
Place offers an array of boutiques, The Palm Restaurant, several
fine dining options that are local favorites and a 10-theater cinema.
- Carolina Place mall in Pineville features more than 100 stores
including Belk, Dillards, JC Penney, Macy’s and Sears.
- Uptown and its surrounding historic neighborhoods provide many
options for fine dining and local favorites. Charlotte’s
LYNX light rail line can take you from the I-485/South Boulevard
intersection (about 10 minutes from Chapel Cove) to Uptown for
an easy way to explore the heart of Charlotte’s arts and
entertainment district.

The ImaginOn complex in uptown Charlotte is the first of its kind
in the country, combining the facilities of a children’s library

Recreation
- Those who enjoy a day on the lake have plenty of options on
Lake Wylie. Chapel Cove will offer a canoe/kayak center and launch
by the lake. Copperhead Island, the nearest public boat launch,
is two miles from Chapel Cove off Shopton Road West, and Lake Wylie
Marina is located at the Buster Boyd Bridge about six miles from
the community.
- Five minutes from Chapel Cove, the Town of Ayrsley offers the
Steele Creek Family YMCA.
- Carowinds amusement and water park, uptown Charlotte Arena,
Verizon Wireless Amphitheater and Cricket Arena offer music concerts
and other large shows.
- Outdoor lovers can enjoy hiking on Chapel Cove’s nature
trails or in nearby Crowders Mountain State Park or South Mountains
State Park. The Blue Ridge Parkway in western North Carolina is
a refreshing day trip about 90 minutes away.
- About 3.5 hours from Chapel Cove lies the Carolina coastline
and popular destinations of Wilmington, N.C., and Charleston and
Hilton Head, S.C.
